O Formigueiro - Anthill

Hoje fui na varanda dos quartos de meus filhos ver uma estante onde guardo potes para formigueiros. Lá tinha o meu primeiro formigueiro  que era horizontal, estava abandonado, mas tampado, protegido contra a luz.  É aquele formigueiro que aparece nos meus primieors posts aqui no blog. Quando o descobri tinha uma colônia de festinatus que naturalmente, começaram a colonizar o formigueiro abandonado. Today I was on the balcony of my kids bedrooms , to see a bookshelf where I keep pots for to make nests. There was my first  antfarm which was horizontal it was abandoned, but well protected from the light. It is the one that shows up in the first posts of my blog. When I took out the cover that protected the antfarm from light, I could see inside a colony of festinatus that naturally colonized the abandoned nest.  ;)

A caminho de uma reunião hoje a noite, encontrei esta coisa linda. É pheidole ou pheidolegeton ? On my way to a meeting tonight, I found this beauty. Is it pheidole or pheidolegeton ?

Como você pode ver as pequenas larvas de festinatus foram bem aceitas pelas rufipes. As pequenas larvas agora são pupas bem desenvolvidas. Os ovos que você pode ver nas fotos, parte deles são de festinatus. As you can see the tiny festinatus larvaes were well accepted by the rufipes ants. The small larvaes are now now well developed pupaes. The eggs that you can see in the photos, some of them are festinatus.

As operárias coletando uma mistura de:  mel de excelente qualidade, proteína e polivitamínicos. The workers collecting a mixture of: high quality honey, protein and multivitamins. 

As larvas aparecem hoje, 2 dias depois de serem adotadas, muito bem desenvolvidas. The larvaes are seen today, 2 days afterwards they were adopted, very well developed.

Peguei 2 larvas de uma rainha Camponotus Festinatus ... I took 2 larvaes from a Camponotus Festinatus queen... E coloquei na minha colônia de Camponotus Rufipes . Imediatamente uma operária começou a cuidar de uma delas, e a levou para próximo do grupo das outras operárias. And I'd put them in my colony of Camponotus rufipes . Immediately a worker began to take care of  one of them, and took it to stay close to the group of the workers. Detalhe da foto anterior. Detail of the previous photo.
